(Pastor) Steve Trujillo just reported to me yesterday that on Tues, July 10th he attended a Public Safety meeting for downtown Portland and they reported, "We don't know what is going on, but crime is way down for the month of June, they have had very little issues with homeless camps, very few car break-ins. Something is going on!" Be encouraged and thank you for blessing our city!! We are looking forward to seeing you again soon!!! Shalom!!

After meeting for early (6:00 a.m.) prayer at Life Change Church on N. Williams, we went to breakfast together and recounted our previous week's "doings." We told about feeling impressed to go a second time to Peninsula Park to pray around it and that we had done it on a Thursday. Prayer Pastor Odessa told us that on the Saturday following our being there, she had helped her daughter with some children's activities at that park during a Health Fair. Two boys on the outskirts of the other children, heard a man threaten to kill his girlfriend, then saw him pull out a handgun and aim it at her. He fired four bullets at her in the presence of about 30 or so children. The children scattered, many of them across a busy street to a convenience store without being hit by a car. The girlfriend did not get hit -- no one got hit! The police were able to pick the man up. Pastor Odessa was convinced the incident came off without any injury because of our prayers!

Taking Portland Back for Jesus
Janet and I, along with others, have just walked out, and I mean walked out, an incredible 102 days in Portland, Oregon. The Lord had said to me on March 3, “Take back My city, Portland. I want you to take a team to walk, pray, declare, and praise Me for this city. Portland can only be taken from the secret place.”
We would meet together every morning to seek God’s face for our instructions for the day, then we would walk, drive, and declare the redemptive gifts, crying out for a lost city, praying for a mighty move of God. Every day was new and exciting, and sometimes very hard. We covered all the high points (Council Crest, Mt. Tabor, Rocky Point, Mt. Scott), entry/exit points (three airports, all the major highways leading into and out of the city), schools, universities, hospitals, and churches. We floated the Willamette River to it’s confluence with the Columbia, salting and praying over all the bridges. We rode the MAX (electric public transit train) from all its beginning points to its ending points. We also prayed around Masonic lodges, strip joints, adult entertainment venues, abortion clinics, and so forth!
One of our greatest joys was meeting and praying with the remnant of people God had promised was there. We encouraged 8 churches to join us in establishing prayer walks for their cities and the neighborhoods surrounding their meeting places.
We had numerous salvations, healings and deliverances. As we prayed people would come up to us and ask us to pray for them, even though they had no way of knowing that prayer was what we were all about. We found that Portland is a young, professional city and that the inhabitants by and large haven’t rejected God, they simply have not heard the gospel. They are hungry for something that will give meaning to their lives; something that will be better than the self-serving life styles to which they have been accustomed.
At the end we were part of a great out-pouring of the Holy Spirit through an event called “Compassion to Action.” Thank You, Lord, for choosing us to pray over Portland for 52 days, then calling us back for another 50 days. Thank You, Lord for allowing us to watch You “establish a city for a dwelling place” (Psalm 107:36).
NOTE: The section of this site that is "Prayer Book" has the list of redemptive gifts of Portland as well as the prayers we prayed daily and some of the prophecies that were given over the city in the last century.
